Thank you for supporting and following me all these years, I&#8217;m excited to be showing brand new work for the first time in a while.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Making Her Mark: A Celebration of Women in Art<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-983\" src=\"http:\/\/www.katedownie.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Span-300x185.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.katedownie.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Span-300x185.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.katedownie.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Span.jpeg 425w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a touring exhibition celebrating 50 women artists from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day, where you can see my work <em>Span<\/em> in a unique collaboration between <a href=\"https:\/\/penleehouse.org.uk\/exhibition\/making-her-mark-a-celebration-of-women-in-art\/\">Penlee House Gallery and Museum<\/a> (30th April- 27th Sep), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museumsworcestershire.org.uk\/2026\/02\/06\/making-her-mark-a-celebration-of-women-in-art\/\">Worcester City Gallery &amp; Museum<\/a> (January 2027) \u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onfife.com\/exhibitions\/making-her-mark-a-celebration-of-women-in-art\/\">Kirkcaldy Galleries<\/a> (June 2027). It grows in cracks in the pavement, in broken gutters of houses. It covers vast lands, clothes the moors and mountains. It edges our motorways and pathways, and lies down short, shorn and polite as turf for the games people play &#8211; in baseball, football, golf, horse racing. Here I am giving a short talk about the new work, which was researched in the depth of winter in Aberdeen, looking at the subject of Energy Transition though Wind and Water power. Additionally a brand new etching for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalscottishacademy.org\/exhibitions\/314-chaos-control-printmaking-in-scotland-now\/overview\/\">Chaos and Control<\/a>: Printmaking in Scotland Now, 27th June to the 26th July.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Tides of Time.<\/strong><\/em> Final week to see Tides of Time at The Scottish Maritime Museum, closing on the 26th April. Perversely I am showing a major drawing in black and white!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>RSA Select<\/em><\/strong> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gairlochmuseum.org\/artgallery\">Gairloch Museum<\/a> from the 5th September to the 25th October. I think this is going to be a great landscape exhibition alongside some of my favourite artists.
