The characters in this work are stolen directly from my children’s’ world. I enlarged them, translating felt pen and crayon faithfully into oil paint. My sombre wet winter drawing was inspired by the twisted Leylandii hedge reminding me of the work of Dr Seuss, a great early influence. Perthshire suburbia meets childhood monsters.
