Based on one of my series of ‘folly drawings’, this etching celebrates three civil engineering structures on the southern shore of the Forth estuary. The coloured lines represent the varied transmission of conversations which we cannot see but know that the air is filled with. At the time of making the original drawing, many people were still very suspicious of the health implications of wireless communication as an everyday form. I enjoy inventing marks for the invisible and ‘undraw-able’. This print edition will be launched on February 13th 2010 at the Watermill in Aberfeldy, and will be available to purchase from that date.
