One of the Coast Road Diary monotype series, this work celebrates the infinite colour changes of a simple low tide shore. Sandyhills, a favourite place of the Dumfriesshire artist Archie Sutter-Watt, is a place so different from the harder edged east coast geology I find familiar with. I was drawn to the dense pattern of opaque white beach shells absorbing the transient hues of a techno colour sunset; ambiguous, fugitive, endlessly and effortlessly tidal.
