This is my first ever monoprint created from a moving film, though I have often  based my monotypes on film stills  since 2000 in the Talbot Rice exhibition ‘East’
Skudenes Harbour is not post-industrial, it is simply industrial. The fish still come into Port and the gulls feast. Oil rigs are constructed. The noise, the excitement, the sense of other lives and other deaths; that’s what this print is about.
This work is conceived and printed during a productive week in a print workshop in Skudeneshavn, a guest of artists Anna-Kristine Ferking and Kay Gerrad, as part of the Stavanger city of Culture 2008.
